What does the Mobidea Tracker do?

Mobidea offers you a powerful platform with tracking software capabilities.

This new tool helps affiliates deepdive and easily optimize their media buying campaigns.

Mobidea’s new Tracker allows affiliates to achieve a superior performance on their campaigns.

These tracking capabilities are 100% free to use!

You just need to log into Mobidea using your regular Mobidea account to have access to all the features a Tracking Software is able to provide!

It’s totally free and you don’t need to install any software to use it.

Just log into your Mobidea account and you’ll be ready to go.

In order to monetize your traffic, you’ll be able to create your own campaigns.

You can create your own rotation of Landers and Offers.

You're free to use your own Landers and split the traffic between Offers and Smartlink.

In case you don't want to worry about which offers to promote, you can use the Smartlink.

What is a Campaign?

In the "Campaigns" section you'll be able to use your own Tracking Domains to configure your own Offers rotation with Rules and Conditions.

Here's what Mobidea allows you to do:

  1. You'll be able to use your own Tracking Domain to promote Mobidea Offers

  2. You're able to set up conditions for your traffic

  3. If you want, you can use your own Landers

  4. You can define the weight of each Lander and Offer on each Path. You can add as many paths as you'd like inside your rotation

  5. You can set up the conditions you want on your Paths. Your Paths will work based on the conditions you set

  6. You can deepdive on your stats and optimize your campaign's data taking different variables into account. In fact, you can optimize by Offer, Browser Version, Device Brand or Referrer... you name it! You can then edit your rotation in order to make even more profit!

What is a Rotation?

You can create your rotation from scratch or choose a template already used on any other of your campaigns.

You're always free to update that template, which will affect all the campaigns that are using this rotation.

You can also save this template as a new one.

Rules are a rotation's highest level.

Once you create the campaign, you'll have one Default rule without conditions, where you can add Paths, which include Landers and Offers.

If you want to add custom rules with your own conditions, you just need to click on the “new rule” button.

Each custom rule must have conditions set, and you can do what you've done in the default rule in order to configure its paths.

All your paths will have the possibility to have landers and offers.

If you prefer to send the user directly to the offer, you can select the "Direct link" option.

You're free to add as many landers and offers on each path as you'd like, and also define their weight!

Remember that Landers with multiple Offers work with a fixed number of offers.

Check the Landers section to learn more about how it works.

If you have more than one path, you can also set the weight for each path.

The weight will define how Mobidea will split the traffic among all the options you've added.

For example: if you have two Offers with a weight of 50/50 on each of them, Mobidea will allocate 50% of your traffic to each offer.

On the other hand, if you want to send more traffic to a specific Path, Offer or Lander, you just have to increase its weight.

When choosing the Offers to promote, we'll show you the list of all Offers approved on your account and all the activated Smartlinks.

In case you want to have more Offers to choose from, open the Offers Directory Page and apply for more Offers.

Once approved, those Offers will appear on the Offers list.

Once you're finished, you'll save the rotation and generate your campaign URL.

Use that URL to promote your campaign and wait to see the magic happen!

What is a Lander?

If you want to use landers on your campaigns, you'll have to create them separately and add all their information on Mobidea.

You'll be able to add landers manually or make a bulk upload of several landers at once!

You're free to use the same Lander on as many campaigns and GEOs as you'd like!

You can host your Lander in any CDN of your choice.

Once you have your lander ready and online, you'll need to click on the “Add Lander” button and insert the following information:

Name: your lander's name.

URL: your lander's URL. This is the URL your user will arrive at when the traffic goes to this lander.

Category: your lander's category. This is useful to organize your landers and it also indicates which kind of banners you're allowed to use for that campaign. The option you choose at this stage won't have any impact on your lander's performance.

Language: your lander's language. This is useful to organize your landers. Your choice won't have any impact on your lander's performance.

Tokens: you're free to add the tokens you want on your Lander URL.

Number of Offers: this is where you'll choose the number of offers available on your Lander. Bear in mind that, if you choose a number that's higher than one, this lander must be the only Lander on your campaign's path.

You'll also need to generate clickURLs in order to allocate each link to each offer of your campaign.

This means the offers that work with this Lander won't have weight.

The clickURLs won't be saved on your account and can be generated as many times as you'd like.

What is a Traffic Source?

In this page, you'll be able to check the performance by traffic source and to add new custom traffic sources

Traffic Sources are the networks where you buy your traffic from.

We’ve already preconfigured more than 100 traffic sources, which include all tokens and postback URLs (for those that work with it).

Those tokens will be automatically added into your Campaign URL.

Didn't find your traffic source on our list?

You can always add your own Traffic Source templates.

You should add tokens on your template, so they can be automatically added on your Campaign URL.

Which data can I analyze?

You can analyze your data by using the following tabs:

Campaigns: this is where you'll be able to check your campaign's performance.

Date: this is where you can see the stats by Date (by Days or – if you only choose one day – by Hours), or the accumulation of an entire month, in case you choose the option “Month.”

On the Offer label, you'll be able to split your data by one of the following variables: Offer (where you can split your data by Single Offer), Smartlink (where you can split your data by Smartlink), Rotation (where you can split your data by the Rotation you've configured for one or more of your campaigns) and Lander (where you can split your data by Landers you've created.)

Country: this is where you can split your data by country.

IP: this is where you can split your data by IPs. You'll have two labels so you can choose the IP format you prefer to analyze.

Operator: you can split your data by operator.

Operating System: you can split your data by operating system and by operating system version.

Browser: you can split your data by Browser name, by Browser Version, and by Browser Language.

Device type: you can split your data by Device Type, Device Brand, and Device Model.

Referral: you can see the data by Referral URL and check whether or not a manual adjustment of balance on your account has been performed by clicking on the “Adjustments” label.

Dayparting: you can split your data by hour of the day and day of the week.

Regardless of the tab you choose, you'll always be able to add more options on the “grouping” dropdowns available on this page, so as to dig deep into your data and check all the segment combinations you want.

Which offers can I put on my rotation?

If you want to choose the offers you want to promote, you have to apply for them on our Offers section.

All your approved offers will appear on your rotation menu, ready to be selected! If you want to have more offers available on your rotation, you just need to go to our Offers section and pick the offer you believe has the most potential.

You're free to make money your way!

Why is a rotation useful?

In case you want to perform a split test to decide which offer or Smartlink works better for your traffic, you can perform an A/B test on your rotation.

You’re free to use your own Landers and split the traffic between Offers and our Smartlink.

The Smartlink auto-optimizes the offers to show to each user.

What can I find in Opportunities?

This is where you can easily check which segments are booming! We also allow you to check the EPC Variation of each segment, so you can see how this segment has been evolving!

You'll divide any segment into 3 variables tops by using the Grouping dropdowns available on this page!

All the information we show is fully transparent, so you can easily see what's hot at the moment!

What's the difference among the Types of Redirect?

Mobidea offers you the chance to use three different Redirect Types:

302 Redirect

This is the option we recommend you use since it can be up to 5x faster than the Meta Refresh.

This is a standard temporary redirect.

It sends visitors to the chosen location (either the Lander or the Offer) as well as the referring data.

Meta Refresh

This type is implemented via a code inserted on the tags of a given HTML document which basically informs the browser to both refresh and load a new URL.

In other words: only the head of the website is refreshed, and not the entire body.

Double Meta Refresh

This redirect will perform a meta-refresh two times.

The first Meta Refresh contains the referrer you want to hide.

It'll go to another page, in your cloaking domain, before sending the user to the offer.

This cloaking domain will be the referrer received by the advertiser.

Bear in mind that this solution can be up to 10x slower than the 302 redirect because of the need to load two HTML pages.

 

What are the Tracker's capabilities?

First and foremost, the tracker allows you to keep track of your campaigns' traffic and create your own paths and rules.

That's not all, though!

It also shows you much more detailed information!

It's up to you to analyze whatever you want - you won't experience a lack of data, that's for sure!

You can choose the tracking domain (it can be the one displayed on Mobidea by default, or your own), the traffic source (with lots of preconfigured templates for Postback, so that you'll automatically see signups on the traffic source side), the cost model of the source (CPM, CPC) and the currency of the campaign.

The platform allows you to directly connect Mobidea's Offers to your campaign!

There's no need to be copy pasting URLs!

Configure the rotation, set the paths and their weight, the rules, and the redirection type (302 Redirect, Meta Refresh, Double Meta Refresh).

It's all super easy to do!

Apart from all these cool features, you can also create rules and perform A/B testing using Mobidea's tracker capabilities.

Set the rules for each OS version, devices, IP, Referrers, hour of the day, and many other parameters.

Later, you can also define which offers to run on each of the rules and paths you've created.

In the end, you'll get the Tracking URL ready to paste on the traffic sources, with its custom tags already incorporated and set up.

How do I work with the Tracker's capabilities?

First, enter your account on the Dashboard menu.

Then, enter the Tracker (located on the left menu.)

From there, click the green "New campaign" button in order to get started.

Now, follow all the steps to create your final and fully customized Tracking URL!

How do the filters work?

The filters allow you to "filter" the info displayed, according to specific criteria.

Let's say you wanna find the best sweepstakes offers in the United States.

You enter the "Opportunities" section on your account, click on Offer (on the top menu) and set a filter in "Country" and "Categories".

This means you'll now only see the stats for sweepstakes in the United States.

This will save you lots of time and help you see hyper detailed data.

How do I set a Postback?

You can set two types of postback.

Global Postback

The Global Postback you'll set will be applied to all the Offers and Smartlinks you run.

Just click on the configuration wheel button on the top right corner of your Mobidea account and then select "Global Postback".

There, you'll be able to choose either a Custom postback or one of our templates for the most well-known trackers.

Insert your domain with the correct tokens (if you're using a Custom postback) and that's it!

Postback for each Offer/Smartlink

You can set a different Postback for each Offer or Smartlink you're running.

In this case, you need to go to the "Offers" page.

Then, go to the "Advanced" tab, turn the switch ON for Postback URL, and follow the same steps explained above for the Global Postback.

Using a Smartlink?

Then you have to enter the "Smart Tools" section, and choose your Smartlink.

Now, click on the little "Edit" pencil and turn the Postback URL ON!

You're good to go!

Don't forget that the postbacks that are set for the Single Offers/Smartlinks will overwrite the Global Postback.
 

Are the Stats showcased in real time?

Yes, indeed!

Now, all the Stats that you see on your Tracker and Dashboard are coming to you in real time!

This means you can get immediate feedback and understand how your traffic is performing.

You can optimize faster like a master!

How do I work with Landers?

When you're creating a new campaign on Mobidea's Tracker, you're gonna be able to select between Direct Link (users go straight to the offer) or Lander (users go to the landing page before actually reaching the offer.)

In case you pick the Lander, you'll be asked to create one.

Name it, select a category and a language.

The objective is to allow you to better organize your inventory.

Now, insert a URL to your landing page.

You can also choose the number of offers, which means the number of Calls-to-Action (buttons, links, etc.) on the landing page that'll lead to the offer.

Later, this lander will be displayed in your list of landers, which means you can use it whenever you want.

Note: Mobidea doesn't provide domain or hosting for your landing page.

How do I delete campaigns?

You can't delete campaigns on the tracker.

You can archive a campaign, though.

This means your campaign is effectively disabled.

After that moment, you won't be able to edit or duplicate the campaign.

How can I delete a domain?

The trash bin to delete will only appear when you have more than one domain.

In this case, when you click the trash bin, a pop up will appear and you'll be asked to choose the tracking domain that'll replace the one you want to erase.

If you have only one tracking domain, you won't be able to delete it until you add a new one, since that one is your "main domain".

Why is my balance different from my stats?

While the balance is updated every 20 minutes, the stats are showcased in real time.

That's the reason why there's a difference between your balance and your stats.

What is the difference between clicks and visits?

Visits represent the number of users reaching the tracking link.

Clicks represent the number of users being redirected to the advertiser page.

There are two distinct scenarios:

  1. When using the link of a Smartlink, Single Offer, or a Direct Link in a campaign rotation, Visits equal Clicks.
  2. When using a Lander in the rotation, Clicks will be lower than the number of Visits, since not all users will click the Call-to-Action in the Lander and go to the advertiser page.

How do I configure my tracking domain?

1. Write your tracking domain. It has to be used just by you

2. Place the Nameservers we give you on the hosting to point the domain to our servers

3 . Once you confirm to us that you've taken all the steps, Mobidea will trigger the DNS verification process. It can take up to one hour

4. Once the domain is successfully verified, we'll inform you via email. It'll be immediately visible on your account. Remember that you can only delete a custom domain if you've got more than one.

To delete a custom domain, you'll have to replace the campaigns that use it by another custom domain.

We'll ask you which domain should replace the one you want to delete.
