Google shows a maximum of around 70 characters in search results).<\/p>\n<p>Plus: try putting your keyword closer to the beginning.<\/p>\n<p>Your URL should be short, too.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t forget to do all of the basic SEO HTML markup as well to make sure you\u2019re telling Google what is a title and what is a headline!<\/p>\n<p>From an SEO perspective, <em>your content\u2019s ideal length should be well over 1500 words.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Even so, don\u2019t lose sight of the priority: your audience.<\/p>\n<p>If you feel that shorter content is more appropriate, go for it.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t write long articles just for the sake of length, especially if there isn\u2019t enough material to build it around.<\/p>\n<p>If you write long articles, try splitting them into several posts, creating a series.<\/p>\n<p>It helps the experience, and improves your SEO indirectly since you can do cross-article linking and have more chances for users to link to them.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6-write-comfortably\"><\/span><strong>6.\u00a0Write Comfortably<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Your writing style should be suited to your audience.<\/p>\n<p>More importantly, it should be something you\u2019re comfortable with.<\/p>\n<p>Know your limitations, and work around them.<\/p>\n<p>If you can change and adapt your style with ease, <strong>more power to you<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>There are tons of blog-writing guides floating around, but take them with a grain of salt.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.dilbert.com\/post\/127310496506\/the-day-you-became-a-better-writer-2nd-look\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">brevity is key<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Short sentences and easy readability are a must, but again (and I can\u2019t stress this enough) what\u2019s infinitely more important is what your audience thinks of your writing.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t try to please some over-indulgent, self-proclaimed expert.<\/p>\n<p>Try to speak <em>to<\/em>, <em>for<\/em> and <em>of<\/em> your audience.<\/p>\n<p>Since the internet has effectively created a culture of text skimmers, you should make your text easy to read by breaking it down into short passages with a lot of white space around.<\/p>\n<p>Split it into sections that have advantage-driven titles (if possible), and use bolding, italicizing, and other modifiers judiciously.<\/p>\n<p>Think about using bullet lists.<\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n<p>Because they not only make it easier to read but also <em>help readers understand the article\u2019s structure and composition.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>It\u2019s also relevant to actually write about what you know.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t start typing away about how D. H.
